Newscorp is an insidious lies and propaganda disseminating machine, that is currentlyworking as the disinformation department of the criminal regime in Washington which has already killed hundreds of thousands of people and has much larger plans ahead. A free press is the only real protection the people have against rogue governments which are already highly infected by the one disease against which democracy has no immunity - corruption.

Well guess what, the print and electronic media are no longer free. The fact that we were too stupid and lazy to prevent the entire thing falling into just a few pairs of greedy hands has ensured that.

Which just leaves the internet.

and already I find that this blog has an ad for an online pimp service thanks to the internet's mega-corporation: Google. Imagine if News corp buys Google. The internet may appear to be free, but in reality if you could gain control over just a few key websites you could effectively control who says what on the internet. Sure your tinpot website or pissy blog like this may still spout the truth for a while, but who's gonna read it? The only way to get large numbers of people to see your message is to have it mentioned on one of the big sites like The Register or Boing Boing. Pretty soon these will be bought up and effectively shut up. They will appear to be cool and happening but their message will be filtered. The only hope is for the readership of places like "Common Dreams" to grow hugely and become established.

But could they be bought out?
